REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 22, 1987
AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University,
2 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $5,495,000 is hereby appropriated
6 to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
7 for the fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988, for
8 instruction in the Doctor of Medicine program.
9 (b) The sum of $2,303,000 is hereby appropriated to the
10 Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
11 fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988, for the general
12 maintenance of the Thomas Jefferson University, including the
13 College of Allied Health Sciences, and student aid.
14 (c) The sum of $1,610,000 is hereby appropriated to Thomas
15 Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
16 Children's Heart Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
17 fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988.
1 Section 2. (a) Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University
2 on account of the appropriations provided in section 1(a) and
3 (b) shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
4 basis of costs during the fiscal year.
5 (b) Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on account
6 of the appropriation in section 1(c) shall be made in accordance
7 with procedures developed by the Secretary of Health, and made
8 in equal quarterly payments.
9 Section 3. The Thomas Jefferson University shall provide
10 such information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions
11 of this act and in such form and manner as the Departments of
12 Education and Health shall prescribe.
13 Section 4. The Thomas Jefferson University shall report its
14 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
15 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
16 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
17 "Higher Education Finance Manual (1980) (1975)" and the <--
18 "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State
19 System of Higher Education, State Related Universities and Non
20 State Related Colleges and Universities."
21 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1987, or
22 immediately, whichever is later.
