AN ACT 1 Making appropriations to the Trustees of the University of 2 Pennsylvania. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be 6 necessary, are hereby appropriated to the Trustees of the 7 University of Pennsylvania for the fiscal year July 1, 1987, to 8 June 30, 1988, for the purposes and in the amounts as shown: 9 (1) For instruction, excluding Veterinary 10 Medicine programs and Doctor of Medicine.......... $14,735,000 11 (2) For dental clinics........................ 945,000 12 (3) For instruction in the Doctor of Medicine 13 program........................................... 4,071,000 14 (4) For instruction in Veterinary Medicine 15 programs only..................................... 7,091,000 16 (5) For the New Bolton Animal Center.......... 3,164,000

8 Section 2. Payments to the University of Pennsylvania on
9 account of the appropriations for the items provided in section
10 1 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
11 basis of costs during the fiscal year.
12 Section 3. The University of Pennsylvania shall provide such
13 information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of
14 this act and in such form and manner as the Department of
15 Education shall prescribe.
16 Section 4. The University of Pennsylvania shall report its
17 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
18 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
19 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
20 "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth
21 of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of
22 Higher Education, State Related Universities and Non State
23 Related Colleges and Universities."
24 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1987, or
25 immediately, whichever is later.
