AN ACT
1 Requiring certain leases executed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike
2 Commission to contain in-State preference provisions
3 concerning the sale of promotional objects.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Short title.
7 This act shall be known and may be cited as the Turnpike
8 Pennsylvania Promotion Act.
9 Section 2. Definitions.
10 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
11 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
12 context clearly indicates otherwise:
13 "Commission." The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.
14 Section 3. Leases.
15 If the commission leases its real property for use as a
16 restaurant or service station, with the right to sell objects
17 which promote this Commonwealth, the lease shall contain a
1 provision that these promotional objects must be manufactured in
2 this Commonwealth unless the lessee can demonstrate that a
3 specific promotional object is only manufactured outside of this
4 Commonwealth.
5 Section 4. Applicability.
6 This act shall apply to leases executed or renewed after the
7 effective date of this act.
8 Section 5. Effective date.
9 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
