AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Labor and Industry
2 for training benefits for workers adversely affected by
3 import competition.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $4,000,000, or as much thereof as may
7 be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of Labor
8 and Industry for training benefits for workers adversely
9 affected by import competition, entitled to such benefits under
10 the Trade Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-618, 88 Stat. 1978).
11 Section 2. The funds appropriated by section 1 of this act
12 shall be distributed in accordance with existing standards and
13 practices of the Department of Labor and Industry for the
14 distribution of Federal funds heretofore made available for
15 training benefits under the Trade Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-
16 618, 88 Stat. 1978). Funding of this program by the Commonwealth
1 shall cease immediately when Federal funds become available for
2 the program.
3 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
