                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 20, 1949 (P.L.1488, No.444), entitled
     2     "An act relating to police pension funds in boroughs, towns
     3     and townships, and authorizing such political subdivisions to
     4     appropriate monies thereto," further providing for payments
     5     into the police pension fund.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 1 of the act of May 20, 1949 (P.L.1488,
     9  No.444), entitled "An act relating to police pension funds in
    10  boroughs, towns and townships, and authorizing such political
    11  subdivisions to appropriate monies thereto," is amended to read:
    12     Section 1.  Each borough, town and township [may] shall
    13  annually appropriate and pay into the police pension fund
    14  established by such political subdivision or which is by
    15  ordinance or resolution designated as the recognized police
    16  pension fund for such political subdivision, a sum of money
    17  which[, together with the monies paid into such police pension
    18  fund according to existing law and practices, will be] is
    19  sufficient to meet the [requirements of and to maintain such

     1  police pension fund.] minimum obligation of the municipality
     2  with respect to the pension plan pursuant to the act of December
     3  18, 1984 (P.L.1005, No.205), known as the "Municipal Pension
     4  Plan Funding Standard and Recovery Act."
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
