AN ACT 1 Amending the act of July 10, 1986 (P.L. , No.52A), entitled 2 "A supplement to the act of April 1, 1863 (P.L.213, No.227), 3 entitled 'An act to accept the grant of Public Lands, by the 4 United States, to the several states, for the endowment of 5 Agricultural Colleges,' making appropriations for carrying 6 the same into effect; providing for a basis for payments of 7 such appropriations; and providing a method of accounting for 8 the funds appropriated," increasing an appropriation to The 9 Pennsylvania State University. 10 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 11 hereby enacts as follows: 12 Section 1. Section 1 of the act of July 10, 1986 (P.L. , 13 No.52A), entitled "A supplement to the act of April 1, 1863 14 (P.L.213, No.227), entitled 'An act to accept the grant of 15 Public Lands, by the United States, to the several states, for 16 the endowment of Agricultural Colleges,' making appropriations 17 for carrying the same into effect; providing for a basis for 18 payments of such appropriations; and providing a method of 19 accounting for the funds appropriated," is amended to read:
1 Section 1. In order to carry into effect the act of
2 Congress, approved July 2, 1862, granting public land to the
3 several states for educational purposes, and subsequent acts of
4 Congress related thereto, and the act of the General Assembly of
5 Pennsylvania accepting the provisions and conditions of said
6 acts of Congress and pledging the faith of the State to carry
7 the same into effect, the following sums, or as much thereof as
8 may be necessary, are hereby appropriated to the Trustees of The
9 Pennsylvania State University for the fiscal year July 1, 1986,
10 to June 30, 1987, for the purposes and in the amounts as shown:
11 (1) For educational and general expenses and
12 for participation by a representative of the
13 institution, appointed by the chief executive
14 officer thereof, as a member of the Pennsylvania
15 Academic Commission on Technological Development,
16 a commission for interinstitutional communication
17 regarding technological innovation and development
18 and for dissemination of information on such
19 matters to the Pennsylvania business community and
20 others who may use such information for new
21 business and job development in Pennsylvania, such
22 commission to be composed of representatives of
23 every State-owned or State-related educational or
24 scientific institution receiving General Fund
25 assistance from the Commonwealth.....[$135,965,000] $146,492,000
