AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, permitting municipalities
3 and the Pennsylvania State Police to enter into cooperative
4 agreements with the National Park Service relating to
5 enforcement of Vehicle Code provisions.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
9 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
10 § 8955. Police service agreements.
11 A municipality or the Pennsylvania State Police may enter
12 into cooperative police service agreements with the National
13 Park Service for the purpose of providing employees of the
14 National Park Service who hold a valid law enforcement
15 commission, issued by that agency, the authority to enforce
16 Title 75 (relating to vehicles) on roads, other than Federal
17 roads, which lie within units of the National Park System which
18 are within the jurisdiction of the municipality's police
1 department or the Pennsylvania State Police.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
