AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, restricting the collection of certain
3 utility billings.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 1326. Billing errors.
9 If a public utility renders to a service customer a bill
10 which understates the correct billing amount because of an error
11 on the part of the utility, the utility may send the service
12 customer a corrected bill within 12 months of the date of the
13 erroneous billing, but in no case shall the utility collect any
14 amount owed to it on an erroneous billing to any service
15 customer after the 12-month period.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
