AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for hijack lights.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
6 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
7 § 4309. Hijack lights.
8 A taxi may be equipped with two flashing devices for the
9 purpose of warning the operators of other vehicles and law
10 enforcement officials that an emergency situation exists within
11 the taxi which threatens the safety of the driver. These devices
12 shall be capable of activation by the operator of the taxi and
13 shall be of a type approved by the department. They shall be
14 mounted one at the front and one at the rear of the taxi and
15 shall display flashing red lights which shine on the roadway
16 under the vehicle.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
