                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, prescribing court costs
     3     for multiple offenses.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1725.1 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 1725.1.  Costs.
     9     * * *
    10     (f)  Multiple offenses.--When more than one summary offense
    11  is alleged to have been committed by one person arising from the
    12  same incident, the matter shall proceed as a single case, and
    13  the minor judiciary shall receive only one set of costs
    14  regardless of the number of statutes which are alleged to have
    15  been violated, but the one set of costs shall be equal to the
    16  greatest amount which would have been received for any one of
    17  the alleged summary offenses if each offense had proceeded as a
    18  separate case.

     1     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
