                               A JOINT RESOLUTION

     1  Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
     2     of Pennsylvania, making English the official language of this
     3     Commonwealth.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby resolves as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The following amendment to the Constitution of
     7  Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
     8     That Article I be amended by adding a section to read:
     9  § 29.  English as official language.
    10     (a)  English is the official language of this Commonwealth.
    11  English is the only language in which official documents are
    12  required to be printed.
    13     (b)  The General Assembly shall implement this section by
    14  appropriate legislation.
