AN ACT 1 Making an appropriation to the Tamburitzan National Folk Arts 2 Center, Inc. for a scholarship endowment fund. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. Legislative purpose. 6 (a) Organization.--The "Tamburitzan" performing ensemble is 7 a viable organization of demonstrated outstanding service to 8 community and State and is dedicated to the preservation and 9 perpetuation of the many diverse ethnic, cultural heritages of 10 this Commonwealth. The ensemble has been recognized 11 internationally for enhancing the climate of understanding both 12 in this Commonwealth and abroad. 13 (b) State resource.--The "Tamburitzans" have become such an 14 important educational and cultural force within this 15 Commonwealth that the "Tamburitzans" are recognized as a State 16 resource. 17 (c) State support.--It is vital that the "Tamburitzans" be
1 supported in order to guarantee its activities in perpetuity. 2 Section 2. Appropriation. 3 The sum of $100,000 is specifically appropriated to the 4 Tamburitzan National Folk Arts Center, Inc. (the support 5 organization for the Duquesne University Tamburitzans Institute 6 of Folk Arts) for the fiscal year July 1, 1985, to June 30, 7 1986, solely for the purpose of funding a scholarship endowment 8 fund necessary to guarantee the existence of the "Tamburitzans" 9 performing ensemble. 10 Section 3.
