AN ACT 1 Authorizing the indebtedness, with the approval of the electors, 2 of $15,000,000 for loans to volunteer fire companies, 3 volunteer ambulance services and volunteer rescue squads for 4 the purpose of establishing or modernizing facilities to 5 house firefighting apparatus equipment, ambulances and rescue 6 vehicles, and for purchasing firefighting apparatus 7 equipment, ambulances and rescue vehicles, protective and 8 communications equipment, and any other accessory equipment 9 necessary for the proper performance of such organizations' 10 duties. 11 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 12 hereby enacts as follows: 13 Section 1. The question of incurring indebtedness of 14 $15,000,000 for loans to volunteer fire companies, volunteer 15 ambulance services and volunteer rescue squads for the purpose 16 of establishing or modernizing facilities to house firefighting 17 apparatus equipment, ambulances and rescue vehicles, and for 18 purchasing firefighting apparatus equipment, ambulances and 19 rescue vehicles, protective and communications equipment, and
1 any other accessory equipment necessary for the proper 2 performance of such organizations' duties, shall be submitted to 3 the electors at the next primary, municipal or general election 4 following enactment of this act. 5 Section 2. The Secretary of the Commonwealth shall forthwith 6 certify the question to the county boards of election. 7 Section 3. The question shall be in substantially the 8 following form: 9 Do you favor the incurring of indebtedness of $15,000,000 10 for loans to volunteer fire companies, volunteer 11 ambulance services and volunteer rescue squads for the 12 purpose of establishing or modernizing facilities to 13 house firefighting apparatus equipment, ambulances and 14 rescue vehicles, and for purchasing firefighting 15 apparatus equipment, ambulances and rescue vehicles, 16 protective and communications equipment, and any other 17 accessory equipment necessary for the proper performance 18 of such organizations' duties? 19 Section 4. The election shall be conducted in accordance 20 with the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the 21 Pennsylvania Election Code, except that the time limits for 22 advertisement of notice of the election may be waived as to the 23 question. 24 Section 5. Proceeds of borrowing shall be used through loans 25 to volunteer fire companies, volunteer ambulance services and 26 volunteer rescue squads pursuant to and for any purpose 27 established by the act of July 15, 1976 (P.L.1036, No.208), 28 known as the Volunteer Fire Company, Ambulance Service and 29 Rescue Squad Assistance Act. 30 Section 6.
