AN ACT
1 Adopting the song "Pennsylvania, My Home State," lyrics and
2 music by Fred Waring, as the State song of the Commonwealth
3 of Pennsylvania.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Official State song.
7 The song "Pennsylvania, My Home State," lyrics and music by
8 Fred Waring, is hereby adopted as the State song of Pennsylvania
9 and shall be the official song for all public purposes. The
10 words of the song are as follows:
11 "PENNSYLVANIA, MY HOME STATE"
12 Verse 1:
13 Take me straight to Pennsylvania,
14 My home State.
15 Don't ever make me late for Pennsylvania.
16 My home State.
17 When William Penn created Pennsylvania,
18 He made her great, great, great.
1 I love the goodness and the beauty
2 Of her people,
3 The scenic splendor that abounds from
4 East to West,
5 Inspiring views from valley, village,
6 Church and steeple,
7 Her fertile fields and laureled hills
8 They're all the best,
9 That's why I lost my heart to Pennsylvania.
