A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1 Memorializing the Congress of the United States to request that 2 the United States Postal Service issue a commemorative stamp 3 depicting the P-61 "Black Widow." 4 WHEREAS, During the course of World War II, bravery and 5 intelligence, combined with a skillful execution of duty, 6 produced valiant squadrons of singular and truly compelling 7 distinction; and 8 WHEREAS, An airborne unit of such magnanimous bearing and 9 conduct consisted of the squadrons of the United States Army Air 10 Corps, known as "The Night-Fighters" of World War II; and 11 WHEREAS, The aircraft most representative of the "Night- 12 Fighter" squadrons of World War II was the P-61 "Black Widow"; 13 therefore be it 14 RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly 15 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of 16 the United States to request that the United States Postal 17 Service issue a commemorative stamp depicting the P-61 "Black 18 Widow"; and be it further
1 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to 2 the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each 3 member of Congress from Pennsylvania, and to the Postmaster 4 General of the United States, Paul N. Carlin. C6L82RLC/19860H0254R3118 - 2 -
