           CARN, COHEN, DEAL, KUKOVICH, PISTELLA, FREEMAN, LINTON,
           OLIVER, EVANS AND TRUMAN, APRIL 30, 1985

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, MAY 1, 1985

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Relating to economic sanctions placed against Namibia.

     2     WHEREAS, Over the past two decades the United States policy
     3  has waivered between the poles of benign neglect and erratic
     4  anticommunism; and
     5     WHEREAS, The priority given to African Nationalist
     6  aspirations in Namibia likewise waivered; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
     8  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of the
     9  United States to uphold and support the economic sanctions
    10  placed against Namibia; and further resolve to reaffirm our
    11  support of Black Majority rule in that country; and be it
    12  further
    13     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
    14  the presiding officers of each House of the Congress of the
    15  United States and to each Senator and Representative from
    16  Pennsylvania in the Congress of the United States.
