A RESOLUTION 1 Memorializing Congress to extend the provisions of Public Law 2 98-21 relating to unemployment compensation benefits. 3 WHEREAS, On April 20, 1983, H.R. 1900 was signed into law by 4 President Reagan becoming Public Law 98-21, known as the Social 5 Security Amendments to 1983; and 6 WHEREAS, Among other things, Public Law 98-21 extended 7 unemployment benefits an additional 13 weeks; and 8 WHEREAS, On April 6, 1985, the authority for the additional 9 13 weeks of eligibility ceases; therefore be it 10 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives memorialize the 11 United States Congress to extend the 13 weeks unemployment 12 compensation eligibility for an additional year; and be it 13 further 14 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to 15 the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each
