AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 5, 1917 (P.L.39, No.20), entitled "An
2 act relating to police pension funds in cities of the second
3 class, and directing such cities to appropriate certain
4 moneys thereto," further providing for payments by the city
5 into the police pension fund.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 1 of the act of April 5, 1917 (P.L.39,
9 No.20), entitled "An act relating to police pension funds in
10 cities of the second class, and directing such cities to
11 appropriate certain moneys thereto," is amended to read:
12 Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That there shall be paid over
13 to the organization or association constituting and having in
14 charge the distribution of police pension funds, in every city
15 of the second class, [one and one-half per centum of all city
16 taxes collected by the city, other than taxes levied to pay
17 interest on or extinguish the debt of the municipality, or any
18 part thereof.] annually an amount sufficient to meet the minimum
19 obligation of the municipality with respect to the pension plan
1 pursuant to the act of December 18, 1984 (P.L.1005, No.205),
2 known as the "Municipal Pension Plan Funding Standard and
3 Recovery Act."
4 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
