AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the courts of common pleas for senior
2 judges.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The sum of $304,000, or as much thereof as may be
6 necessary, is hereby appropriated to the courts of common pleas
7 for senior judges of the courts of common pleas. Senior judges
8 working as active or senior judges a minimum of 75 days in the
9 prior calendar year are to receive health benefits. Senior
10 judges shall not be assigned unless adequate funds are available
11 in this appropriation to provide compensation. Any senior judge
12 assigned in excess of existing funding shall be compensated from
13 the appropriation for the Supreme Court.
14 Section 2. The sum appropriated in section 1 shall be in
15 addition to the sum appropriated for senior judges of the courts
16 of common pleas by section 503 of the act of June 30, 1985 (P.L.
17 , No.5A), known as the General Appropriation Act of 1985.
1 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
