AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to The Medical College of Pennsylvania,
2 East Falls, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The sum of $2,489,000 $2,454,000 is hereby <--
6 appropriated to The Medical College of Pennsylvania located in
7 East Falls, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the fiscal year July
8 1, 1985, to June 30, 1986, for instruction in the Doctor of
9 Medicine program and for participation by a representative of
10 the institution, appointed by the chief executive officer
11 thereof, as a member of the Pennsylvania Academic Commission on
12 Technological Development, a commission for interinstitutional
13 communication regarding technological innovation and development
14 and for dissemination of information on such matters to the
15 Pennsylvania business community and others who may use such
16 information for new business and job development in
1 Pennsylvania, such commission to be composed of representatives
2 of every State-owned or State-related educational or scientific
3 institution receiving General Fund assistance from the
4 Commonwealth.
5 Section 2. The sum of $529,000 $779,000 is hereby <--
6 appropriated to The Medical College of Pennsylvania,
7 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the fiscal year July 1, 1985, to
8 June 30, 1986, for the general maintenance of The Medical
9 College of Pennsylvania, including the School of Allied Health,
10 and student aid.
11 Section 3. Payments to The Medical College of Pennsylvania
12 on account of the appropriations provided in sections 1 and 2
13 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
14 basis of costs during the fiscal year.
15 Section 4. The Medical College of Pennsylvania shall provide
16 such information and in such form and manner as the Department
17 of Education may prescribe.
18 Section 5. The Medical College of Pennsylvania shall report
19 its revenues and expenditures and present its financial
20 statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting
21 principles and procedures for educational institutions as set
22 forth in the "Higher Education Finance Manual of 1975," without
23 exception.
24 Section 6. This act shall take effect July 1, 1985, or
25 immediately, whichever is later.
