AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, increasing the penalty for incest.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 4302 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
7 § 4302. Incest.
8 A person is guilty of incest, a [misdemeanor of the first
9 degree] felony of the second degree, if he knowingly marries or
10 cohabits or has sexual intercourse with an ancestor or
11 descendant, a brother or sister of the whole or half blood or an
12 uncle, aunt, nephew or niece of the whole blood. The
13 relationships referred to in this section include blood
14 relationships without regard to legitimacy, and relationship of
15 parent and child by adoption.
16 Section 2. This act applies to offenses committed on and
17 after the effective date of this act.
1 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
