                     Report of the Committee of Conference

        To the Members of the House of Representatives and Senate:

           We, the undersigned, Committee of Conference on the part of
        the House of Representatives and Senate for the purpose of
        considering House Bill No. 1009, entitled:
        "An act making appropriations from the State Employees'
        Retirement Fund to provide for expenses of the State Employees'
        Retirement Board for the fiscal year July 1, 1985, to June 30,
        1986, and for the payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid
        at the close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1985,"

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations from the State Employees' Retirement Fund
     2     to provide for expenses of the State Employees' Retirement
     3     Board for the fiscal year July 1, 1985, to June 30, 1986, and
     4     for the payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid at the
     5     close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1985.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  The sum of $5,020,000, or as much thereof as may
     9  be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the State Employees'
    10  Retirement Fund to the State Employees' Retirement Board for the
    11  payment of all salaries, wages and other compensation and travel
    12  expenses of the employees and members of the State Employees'
    13  Retirement Board, for contractual services and other expenses
    14  necessary for the proper conduct of the duties, functions and
    15  activities of the board for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
    16  1985, and for the payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid
    17  at the close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1985.
    18     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1985, or
    19  immediately, whichever is later.
