                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, requiring lighted headlights on trucks of Class 4
     3     and higher.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4302 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4302.  Period for requiring lighted lamps.
     9     (a)  General rule.--Every vehicle upon a highway at any time
    10  between sunset and sunrise and at any other time when, due to
    11  insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions,
    12  persons and vehicles on the highway are not clearly discernible
    13  from a distance of 1000 feet ahead shall display lighted head
    14  and other lamps and illuminating devices as required under this
    15  chapter for different classes of vehicles, subject to exceptions
    16  with respect to parked vehicles. Stop lights, turn signals and
    17  other signaling devices shall be lighted as prescribed in this
    18  title.

     1     (b)  Certain trucks.--All trucks of Class 4 and higher
     2  registration classes shall display lighted headlights and other
     3  required lights at all times during the day or night when the
     4  truck is operated upon any highway.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
