AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, prohibiting parole in
3 certain cases.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 9721 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 9721. Sentencing generally.

10 (f) Denial of parole.--Notwithstanding any law to the
11 contrary, any person convicted of any act, or attempt to commit
12 the act, of murder, rape, robbery or assault with a deadly
13 weapon, the commission of which directly and proximately
14 resulted in serious physical injury to another and the
15 commission of which follows within five years a previous
16 conviction of another felony, or attempt thereof, resulting in
17 serious physical injury of another, shall, upon conviction,
1 serve the sentence that is imposed without benefit of parole.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
