                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     appeals.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 932 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 932.  Appeals from minor judiciary.
     9     Except as otherwise prescribed by any general rule adopted
    10  pursuant to section 503 (relating to reassignment of matters),
    11  each court of common pleas shall have exclusive jurisdiction of
    12  appeals from final orders of the minor judiciary established
    13  within the judicial district. Any defendant who, after proper
    14  notice and without good cause, fails to appear or defend in a
    15  civil action before a district justice shall be deemed to have
    16  waived the right to appeal to the court of common pleas from the

     1  final order of the district justice in that action.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
