AN ACT
1 Appropriating certain proceeds of the utilities gross receipts
2 tax to the Department of Public Welfare for the Low Income
3 Home Energy Assistance Program.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $20,000,000 from the proceeds of the
7 utilities gross receipts tax imposed and collected under Article
8 XI of the act of March 4, 1971 (P.L.6, No.2), known as the Tax
9 Reform Code of 1971, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
10 Public Welfare for the cash benefit component of the Low Income
11 Home Energy Assistance Program for the fiscal year July 1, 1984,
12 to June 30, 1985. This sum shall be used by the department to
13 augment Federal funds in order to continue the regular program
14 being administered in accordance with Title XXVI of the Omnibus
15 Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981 (Public Law 97-35, 95 Stat.
16 357).
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
