A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1 Directing the Joint State Government Commission to investigate 2 third-party real estate brokerage activity. 3 WHEREAS, The issue of third-party real estate brokerage 4 activity has given rise to complex public policy questions which 5 should be considered by the General Assembly after study and 6 deliberation; and 7 WHEREAS, The consumers of this Commonwealth will be 8 materially affected by any resolution of this issue because of 9 its relationship to the provision and availability of housing 10 and housing financing; therefore be it 11 RESOLVED (the House of Representatives concurring), That the 12 General Assembly direct the Joint State Government Commission to 13 organize a task force to undertake a study of the establishment 14 of third-party brokerage operations by entities of a public or 15 private nature and their holding companies, service corporations 16 or subsidiaries and whether existing law and regulations 17 affecting these entities adequately safeguard the interests of
1 the citizens of the Commonwealth for available competitive 2 housing financing; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That the Secretary of Banking, the Commissioner of 4 Professional and Occupational Affairs and the Chairman of the 5 Pennsylvania Securities Commission shall meet with the task 6 force in an advisory capacity and shall provide such assistance 7 as may be requested by the task force; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That the task force may hold such hearings within 9 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as it deems necessary; and be 10 it further 11 RESOLVED, That the task force shall report its findings and 12 recommendations for legislation or administrative change within 13 three months of its organizational meeting.
