                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 15, 1983 (P.L.599, No.6A), entitled "An
     2     act itemizing appropriations required from the Motor License
     3     Fund for the fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984 for
     4     the proper operation of the several departments of the
     5     Commonwealth authorized to spend Motor License Fund moneys,"
     6     increasing certain appropriations.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  As much of section 2 as relates to the
    10  appropriation for the administration of the highway and safety
    11  improvement programs in the Department of Transportation and
    12  tort claims in the Department of General Services of the act of
    13  July 15, 1983 (P.L.599, No.6A), known as the Motor License Fund
    14  Appropriation Act of 1983, the appropriation to the Department
    15  of Transportation vetoed in part and amended by the act of July
    16  22, 1983 (P.L.719, No.53A), is amended to read:
    17     Section 2.  The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
    18  necessary, are hereby specifically appropriated from the Motor
    19  License Fund to the hereinafter named agencies of the


     1  Commonwealth for the payment of salaries, wages and other
     2  compensation and travel expenses of the duly elected or
     3  appointed officers and employees of the Commonwealth, for
     4  contractual services and other expenses necessary for the proper
     5  conduct of the duties, functions and activities for the purposes
     6  hereinafter set forth for the fiscal period beginning July 1,
     7  1983 and for the payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid
     8  at the close of the fiscal period ending June 30, 1983.

    11     For the salaries, wages and all necessary
    12  expenses for the operation of the highway and
    13  safety improvement programs, including
    14  planning and research, design, engineering,
    15  right-of-way acquisition and the operation
    16  of the engineering district facilities
    17  and liaison services with communities
    18  on local road engineering and construction
