AN ACT
1 Amending the act of July 15, 1983 (P.L.596, No.3A) entitled, "An
2 act making an appropriation from the State Employees'
3 Retirement Fund to provide for expenses of the State
4 Employees' Retirement Board for the fiscal year July 1, 1983
5 to June 30, 1984 and for the payment of bills incurred and
6 remaining unpaid at the close of the fiscal year ending June
7 30, 1983," providing additional appropriations.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. Section 1 of the act of July 15, 1983 (P.L.596,
11 No.3A) entitled, "An act making an appropriation from the State
12 Employees' Retirement Fund to provide for expenses of the State
13 Employees' Retirement Board for the fiscal year July 1, 1983 to
14 June 30, 1984 and for the payment of bills incurred and
15 remaining unpaid at the close of the fiscal year ending June 30,
16 1983," is amended to read:
17 Section 1. (a) The sum of $3,437,000, or as much thereof as
18 may be necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated from the
19 State Employees' Retirement Fund to the State Employees'
20 Retirement Board for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1983 and
1 for the payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid at the
2 close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1983 for the payment of
3 all salaries, wages and other compensation and travel expenses
4 of the employees and members of the State Employees' Retirement
5 Board, for contractual services and other expenses necessary for
6 the proper conduct of the duties, functions and activities of
7 the board and for the payment of bills incurred and remaining
8 unpaid at the close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1983.
9 (b) The sum of $150,000, or as much thereof as may be
10 necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated from the State
11 Employees' Retirement Fund to the State Employees' Retirement
12 Board for fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984 for the cost
13 of internal control and investment performance audits performed
14 by the State Auditor General.
15 (c) The sum of $317,000, or as much thereof as may be
16 necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated from the State
17 Employees' Retirement Fund to the State Employees' Retirement
18 Board for fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984 for attorney
19 fees payable in accordance with a consent decree and court order
20 concerning the McKenna-Weir and Catania cases.
21 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
