                            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring Clifton C. Caldwell as the father of the Area-Labor
     2     Management Committee Grant Program.

     3     WHEREAS, The General Assembly has recognized the importance
     4  of labor-management cooperation to the competitiveness of our
     5  firms, the quality of life of our workers and the economic
     6  health of our communities by creating the Area Labor-Management
     7  Committee Grant Program, which was signed into law by Governor
     8  Thornburgh on May 31, 1983; and
     9     WHEREAS, Clifton C. Caldwell, a distinguished labor leader
    10  from Pittsburgh and a member of the Pennsylvania MILRITE Council
    11  and the Pittsburgh Labor-Management Committee, has long been an
    12  articulate, persuasive and enthusiastic advocate for labor-
    13  management cooperation in Pennsylvania; therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
    15  honors Clifton C. Caldwell as the father of the Area Labor-
    16  Management Committee Grant Program and that this program be
    17  known as the Clifton C. Caldwell Area Labor-Management Committee


     1  Grant Program, in recognition of his tireless efforts on behalf
     2  of labor-management cooperation in Pennsylvania; and be it
     3  further
     4     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     5  the Governor.
