A RESOLUTION
1 Encouraging the Pennsylvania Bar Association to adopt a trust
2 account income program to further assist indigent residents.
3 WHEREAS, Numerous attacks are being made upon the system that
4 delivers legal services to the indigent. Massive budget cuts at
5 the Federal and State levels are occurring with no alternative
6 options apparent to replace the current system; and
7 WHEREAS, A proposal has been submitted and is being reviewed
8 by the Pennsylvania Bar Association to establish a legal service
9 system funded from interest-bearing trust fund accounts;
10 therefore be it
11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
12 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania encourage the Pennsylvania Bar
13 Association to adopt a system availing indigent Pennsylvania
14 citizens legal representation through a trust account income
15 program; and be it further
16 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
17 President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
