AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Academy of Natural Sciences.
2 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
3 hereby enacts as follows:
4 Section 1. The sum of $291,000 is hereby appropriated to the
5 Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
6 fiscal year July 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985 for the purpose of
7 maintenance of the institute and for participation by a
8 representative of the institution, appointed by the Chief
9 Executive Officer thereof, as a member of the Pennsylvania
10 Academic Commission on Technological Development, a commission
11 for inter-institutional communication regarding technological
12 innovation and development and for dissemination of information
13 on such matters to the Pennsylvania business community and
14 others who may use such information for new business and job
15 development in Pennsylvania, such commission to be composed of
16 representatives of every State-owned or State-related
17 educational or scientific institution receiving General Fund
1 assistance from the Commonwealth.
2 Section 2. Payments to the Academy of Natural Sciences on
3 account of the appropriation provided in section 1 shall be made
4 quarterly by the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania
5 Historical and Museum Commission.
6 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1984 or, if
7 enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately.
