                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Franklin Institute Science
     2     Museum.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $477,000 is hereby appropriated to the
     6  Franklin Institute Science Museum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
     7  for the fiscal year July 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985 for the
     8  maintenance of the institute and for participation by a
     9  representative of the institution, appointed by the Chief
    10  Executive Officer thereof, as a member of the Pennsylvania
    11  Academic Commission on Technological Development, a commission
    12  for inter-institutional communication regarding technological
    13  innovation and development and for dissemination of information
    14  on such matters to the Pennsylvania business community and
    15  others who may use such information for new business and job
    16  development in Pennsylvania, such commission to be composed of
    17  representatives of every State-owned or State-related


     1  educational or scientific institution receiving General Fund
     2  assistance from the Commonwealth. No part of this appropriation
     3  shall be used in support of the institute's research
     4  laboratories.
     5     Section 2.  Payments to the Franklin Institute Science Museum
     6  on account of the appropriation provided in section 1 shall be
     7  made quarterly by the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania
     8  Historical and Museum Commission.
     9     Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1984 or, if
    10  enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately.
