                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Trustees of Drexel University,
     2     Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $4,412,000 is hereby appropriated to
     6  the Trustees of Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
     7  for the fiscal year July 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985, for
     8  instruction and student aid and for participation by a
     9  representative of the institution, appointed by the Chief
    10  Executive Officer thereof, as a member of the Pennsylvania
    11  Academic Commission on Technological Development, a commission
    12  for inter-institutional communication regarding technological
    13  innovation and development and for dissemination of information
    14  on such matters to the Pennsylvania business community and
    15  others who may use such information for new business and job
    16  development in Pennsylvania, such commission to be composed of
    17  representatives of every State-owned or State-related


     1  educational or scientific institution receiving General Fund
     2  assistance from the Commonwealth.
     3     Section 2.  Payments to Drexel University on account of the
     4  appropriation provided in section 1 shall be made by the
     5  Secretary of Education in equal quarterly payments.
     6     Section 3.  The Drexel University shall provide such
     7  information and in such form and manner as the Department of
     8  Education may prescribe.
     9     Section 4.  Drexel University shall report its revenues and
    10  expenditures and present its financial statements in accordance
    11  with generally accepted accounting principles and procedures for
    12  educational institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education
    13  Finance Manual of 1975," without exception.
    14     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1984 or, if
    15  enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately.
