                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Philadelphia College of
     2     Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $4,229,000 is hereby appropriated to
     6  the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia,
     7  Pennsylvania, for the fiscal year July 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985,
     8  for instruction in the Doctor of Osteopathy program and for
     9  participation by a representative of the institution, appointed
    10  by the Chief Executive Officer thereof, as a member of the
    11  Pennsylvania Academic Commission on Technological Development, a
    12  commission for inter-institutional communication regarding
    13  technological innovation and development and for dissemination
    14  of information on such matters to the Pennsylvania business
    15  community and others who may use such information for new
    16  business and job development in Pennsylvania, such commission to
    17  be composed of representatives of every State-owned or State-


     1  related educational or scientific institution receiving General
     2  Fund assistance from the Commonwealth.
     3     Section 2.  Payments to the Philadelphia College of
     4  Osteopathic Medicine on account of the appropriation provided in
     5  section 1 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education
     6  on the basis of costs during the fiscal year.
     7     Section 3.  The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
     8  shall provide such information as may be necessary to carry out
     9  the provisions of this act and in such form and manner as the
    10  Department of Education may prescribe.
    11     Section 4.  The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
    12  shall report its revenues and expenditures and present its
    13  financial statements in accordance with generally accepted
    14  accounting principles and procedures for educational
    15  institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education Finance
    16  Manual of 1975," without exception.
    17     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1984 or, if
    18  enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately. �ed
