AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the payment of the axle tax.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 9903 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
7 § 9903. Report and payment of tax.
8 The tax shall be paid to the department at the time a motor
9 carrier applies for vehicle registration or for the issuance of
10 an identification marker or permit pursuant to section 2102
11 (relating to identification markers required). No registration
12 card or identification marker or permit shall be issued unless
13 the tax imposed by section 9902 (relating to imposition of axle
14 tax) has been paid unless the registration is a transferred
15 registration from another vehicle having the same or greater
16 number of axles and the tax had been paid on that vehicle.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
