AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
3 interest on judgments.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 8101 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 8101. Interest on judgments.
9 Except as otherwise provided by another statute, a judgment
10 for a specific sum of money shall bear interest at the [lawful]
11 rate of 12% per year from the date of the verdict or award, or
12 from the date of the judgment, if the judgment is not entered
13 upon a verdict or award.
14 Section 2. This act shall apply to judgments entered on and
15 after the effective date of this act.
16 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
