AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing additional
3 powers for municipal police officers.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 8953 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 8953. Statewide municipal police jurisdiction.

10 (f) Additional power.--Any duly employed municipal police
11 officer, who is within the territorial limits of his primary
12 jurisdiction and views a violation of Title 75 (relating to
13 vehicles) or has probable cause to believe that a violation
14 thereof has been committed and makes a reasonable effort to
15 identify himself as a police officer, may enforce the law as if
16 he were enforcing the law within the territorial limits of his
17 primary jurisdiction.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
