                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for examination and testing for Agent Orange exposure
     2     victims; recognizing herbicide exposure as a service-
     3     connected disability; and making an appropriation.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6  Section 1.  Testing for Agent Orange.
     7     Any evaluation of herbicide exposure shall include the
     8  following two tests:
     9         (1)  a urine analysis to detect porphyrins; and
    10         (2)  some form of neuromedical electrical testing.
    11  Section 2.  Service-connected disability.
    12     Any illness or medical problem resulting from herbicide
    13  exposure shall be recognized as a service-connected disability.
    14  Section 3.  Investigation.
    15     The Department of Health shall, after conferring with the
    16  Bureau of Veterans' Affairs, investigate medical problems
    17  arising from exposure to Agent Orange.


     1  Section 4.  Appropriation.
     2     The sum of $100,000 is hereby appropriated to the Department
     3  of Health for the purpose of investigating health problems
     4  resulting from herbicide exposure.
     5  Section 5.  Effective date.
     6     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
