AN ACT
1 Making an emergency appropriation to the Philadelphia School
2 District, to be used for repair and replacement costs
3 incurred as a result of problems caused by asbestos.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $17,700,000, or as much thereof as may
7 be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Philadelphia School
8 District to be used for repair and replacement costs incurred as
9 a result of problems caused by asbestos. The moneys shall be
10 allocated as follows:
11 School year Amount Allocation
12 1983-1984 $6,200,000 8 schools in Class
13 B and 90 schools in
14 Class C
15 1984-1985 6,000,000 11 schools in Class
16 B and 90 schools in
17 Class C
1 1985-1986 5,500,000 31 schools in Class
2 B and 90 schools in
3 Class C
4 Class B schools includes all schools with fireproof or
5 acoustical plastic problems resulting from asbestos.
6 Class C schools includes all schools with problems relating
7 to pipe covering installment caused by asbestos.
8 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
