AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for the use of marked police vehicles for
3 traffic law enforcement.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 6309. Use of marked police vehicles for traffic law
9 enforcement.
10 Any motor vehicle used by the Pennsylvania State Police or by
11 any local police department for the primary or exclusive purpose
12 of traffic law enforcement, for other than summary offenses,
13 shall be marked in some distinctive manner or color. The manner
14 of marking or color shall be as determined by the Commissioner
15 of the Pennsylvania State Police or by the chief of the local
16 police department.
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
