AN ACT 1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 2 Statutes, providing for a designation on drivers' licenses 3 for medical doctors. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Section 1510(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania 7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read: 8 § 1510. Issuance and content of driver's license. 9 (a) General rule.--The department shall, upon payment of the 10 required fee, issue to every qualified applicant a driver's 11 license indicating the type or general class of vehicles the 12 licensee is authorized to drive, which license shall contain the 13 social security number of the licensee, the actual name, date of 14 birth, residence address, a color photograph of the licensee, 15 such other information as may be required by the department, and 16 either a facsimile of the signature of the licensee or a space 17 upon which the licensee shall write his usual signature with pen
1 and ink. Personal medical data and other information for use in 2 an emergency may be included as a part of the license. A medical 3 doctor shall be permitted to have the abbreviation "M.D." appear 4 after the name of the doctor. Information other than that 5 required to identify the licensee, the distinguishing number and 6 the class of license issued may be included in microdata form. 7 No driver's license shall be valid until it has been signed by 8 the licensee. 9 * * * 10 Section 2.
