        AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
           JUNE 30, 1983

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric
     2     Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $742,000 is hereby appropriated to the
     6  Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, Philadelphia,
     7  Pennsylvania, for the fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984,
     8  for instruction in the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine program AND   <--
     9  FOR PARTICIPATION BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE INSTITUTION,
    10  APPOINTED BY THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER THEREOF, AS A MEMBER OF
    11  THE PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMIC COMMISSION ON TECHNOLOGICAL
    12  DEVELOPMENT, A COMMISSION FOR INTER-INSTITUTIONAL COMMUNICATION
    13  REGARDING TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT AND FOR
    14  DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION ON SUCH MATTERS TO THE PENNSYLVANIA
    15  BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND OTHERS WHO MAY USE SUCH INFORMATION FOR
    16  NEW BUSINESS AND JOB DEVELOPMENT IN PENNSYLVANIA, SUCH
    17  COMMISSION TO BE COMPOSED OF REPRESENTATIVES OF EVERY STATE-

     1  OWNED OR STATE-RELATED EDUCATIONAL OR SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTION
     2  RECEIVING GENERAL FUND ASSISTANCE FROM THE COMMONWEALTH.
     3     Section 2.  Payments to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric
     4  Medicine on account of the appropriation provided in section 1
     5  shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
     6  basis of costs during the fiscal year.
     7     Section 3.  The Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine
     8  shall provide such information and in such form and manner as
     9  the Department of Education may prescribe.
    10     Section 4.  The Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine
    11  shall report its revenues and expenditures and present its
    12  financial statements in accordance with generally accepted
    13  accounting principles and procedures for educational
    14  institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education Finance
    15  Manual of 1975," without exception.
    16     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1983 or, if
    17  enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately.
