AN ACT 1 Making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University, 2 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $4,374,000 is hereby appropriated 6 to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 7 for the fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, for 8 instruction in the Doctor of Medicine program AND FOR <-- 9 PARTICIPATION BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE INSTITUTION, APPOINTED 10 BY THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER THEREOF, AS A MEMBER OF THE 11 PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMIC COMMISSION ON TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT, A 12 COMMISSION FOR INTER-INSTITUTIONAL COMMUNICATION REGARDING 13 TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT AND FOR DISSEMINATION 14 OF INFORMATION ON SUCH MATTERS TO THE PENNSYLVANIA BUSINESS 15 COMMUNITY AND OTHERS WHO MAY USE SUCH INFORMATION FOR NEW 16 BUSINESS AND JOB DEVELOPMENT IN PENNSYLVANIA, SUCH COMMISSION TO 17 BE COMPOSED OF REPRESENTATIVES OF EVERY STATE-OWNED OR STATE-
1 RELATED EDUCATIONAL OR SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTION RECEIVING GENERAL 2 FUND ASSISTANCE FROM THE COMMONWEALTH. 3 (b) The sum of $1,886,000 is hereby appropriated to the 4 Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the 5 fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, for the general 6 maintenance of the Thomas Jefferson University, including the 7 College of Allied Health Sciences, and student aid. 8 Section 2. Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on 9 account of the appropriations provided in section 1 shall be 10 made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of 11 costs during the fiscal year. 12 Section 3. The Thomas Jefferson University shall provide 13 such information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions 14 of this act and in such form and manner as the Department of 15 Education may prescribe. 16 Section 4. The Thomas Jefferson University shall report its 17 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements 18 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and 19 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the 20 "Higher Education Finance Manual of 1975," without exception. 21 Section 5.
