AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University,
2 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $4,374,000 is hereby appropriated
6 to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
7 for the fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, for
8 instruction in the Doctor of Medicine program.
9 (b) The sum of $1,886,000 is hereby appropriated to the
10 Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
11 fiscal year July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, for the general
12 maintenance of the Thomas Jefferson University, including the
13 College of Allied Health Sciences, and student aid.
14 Section 2. Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on
15 account of the appropriations provided in section 1 shall be
16 made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of
17 costs during the fiscal year.
1 Section 3. The Thomas Jefferson University shall provide
2 such information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions
3 of this act and in such form and manner as the Department of
4 Education may prescribe.
5 Section 4. The Thomas Jefferson University shall report its
6 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
7 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
8 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
9 "Higher Education Finance Manual of 1975," without exception.
10 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1983 or, if
11 enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately.
