                                     AN ACT

     1  Establishing a system of maintenance funding for interstate
     2     highways.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The Department of Transportation shall establish
     6  a formula to determine the cost per mile of maintenance of all
     7  interstate highways.
     8     Section 2.  The cost of maintenance of the interstate
     9  highways shall be allocated as follows:
    10         (1)  Fifty percent from the allocation of maintenance
    11     funds to the county maintenance offices of the Department of
    12     Transportation.
    13         (2)  Fifty percent from the Commonwealth out of the motor
    14     License Fund.
    15  These moneys will be allocated to the county office as an
    16  additional increment to whatever funds are received by the
    17  formula distribution.

     1     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
