AN ACT 1 Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within 2 the General Fund to the Public Utility Commission. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be 6 necessary, are hereby specifically appropriated from the 7 restricted revenue account within the General Fund to the Public 8 Utility Commission to provide for the operation of the 9 commission for the fiscal period July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, 10 for the purposes and in the amounts shown: 11 (1) For the salaries, wages and all 12 necessary expenses for the proper 13 administration of the Public Utility Commission 14 including the chairman and commissioners, 15 Office of the Director of Operations, Bureau of 16 Public Information, Office of Special 17 Assistants, Office of Intergovernmental Affairs
1 and the Secretary's Bureau..................... $6,215,000 2 (2) For the salaries, wages and all 3 necessary expenses for the proper 4 administration of the Offices of Counsel and 5 Administrative Law Judge....................... 4,667,000 6 (3) For the salaries, wages and all 7 necessary expenses for the proper 8 administration of rates, research and 9 transportation including the Bureau of 10 Conservation, Economics and Energy Planning, 11 Bureau of Nonrail Transportation, Bureau of 12 Rail Transportation and the Bureau of Rates.... 5,826,000 13 (4) For the salaries, wages and all 14 necessary expenses for the proper 15 administration of investigations and 16 enforcement including the Bureau of Audits and 17 the Bureau of Safety and Compliance. Funds from 18 this appropriation shall be used to initiate 19 audit surveillance of major utility 20 construction projects.......................... 4,483,000 21 (5) For the salaries, wages and all 22 necessary expenses for proper administration of 23 the Bureau of Consumer Services. Funds from 24 this appropriation shall be used to secure 25 equipment and adequate temporary or permanent 26 staff to maintain a reasonable completion rate 27 on the toll free telephone lines into this 28 bureau. A reasonable completion rate shall be a 29 rate where, on a monthly average, at least 20% 30 of all calls to the bureau are completed. 19830H0192B0215 - 2 -
