AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for checks accepted by designated agents
3 for payment of permanent registration fees and sales tax.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1310 of Title 75, act of November 25,
7 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 1310. Temporary registration cards.
10 (a) General rule.--The department shall provide temporary
11 registration cards for use pending issuance or transfer of
12 permanent registration cards. Temporary registration cards may
13 be delivered to designated agents who shall have the authority
14 to issue them in accordance with regulations promulgated by the
15 department.
16 (b) Duration.--Temporary registration cards shall be valid
17 for such period as the department shall designate.
18 (c) Charges by designated agent.--A designated agent may not
1 charge any fee for issuing a temporary registration card other
2 than notary fees. Checks accepted by a designated agent for the
3 permanent registration fee and payment of the sales tax shall be
4 made out to the Commonwealth and not to the designated agent.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
