AN ACT
1 Conferring limited residency status on military personnel and
2 their dependents assigned to an active duty station in
3 Pennsylvania.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. (A) From and after the effective date of this <--
7 act, the term "resident" or "residency" when used to determine
8 the rate of tuition to be charged students attending State-owned
9 institutions of higher learning shall be construed to mean and
10 include any military personnel or their dependents who are
11 assigned to an active duty station in Pennsylvania.
12 (B) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN ANY "RESIDENT" OR DEPENDENT <--
13 OF ANY "RESIDENT" AS DEFINED IN SUBSECTION (A) APPLY FOR OR BE
14 OTHERWISE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE FORM
15 OF A LOAN OR SCHOLARSHIP GRANT FROM ANY AGENCY OF THIS
16 COMMONWEALTH DURING THEIR "RESIDENCY" IN THIS STATE.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
