        AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, JUNE 16, 1981

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to the Trustees of the University of
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The following sums are hereby specifically
     6  appropriated to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania
     7  for the fiscal year July 1, 1981 to June 30, 1982, for the
     8  purposes and in the amounts as shown:
     9     (1)  For instruction excluding
    10          Veterinary Medicine Programs and Doctor
    11          of Medicine...................................$7,578,000
    12     (2)  For student aid .............................. 3,798,000
    13     (3)  For instruction in Veterinary
    14          Medicine Programs only........................ 5,172,000
    15     (4)  For instruction - Doctor of
    16          Medicine only................................. 2,970,000
    17     (5)  New Bolton Animal Center...................... 1,200,000


     1     (6)  For dental clinics............................   600,000  <--
     2                                                           690,000  <--
     3     (7)  Food and Animal Clinics and Services..........   600,000
     4     Section 2.  Payments to the University of Pennsylvania on
     5  account of the appropriations for all items provided in section
     6  1, shall be made by the Secretary of Education in equal
     7  quarterly payments.
     8     Section 3.  The university shall provide such information and
     9  in such form and manner as the Department of Education may
    10  prescribe.
    11     Section 4.  The University of Pennsylvania shall report its
    12  revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
    13  as required under the provisions of this act in accordance with
    14  generally accepted accounting principles and procedures for
    15  educational institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education
    16  Finance Manual of 1975," without exception.
    17     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1981.
